Record Breakers!

It's National Guinness World Record Day! So why not set a record yourself this weekend? London is full of golden opportunities. Worst kebab ever eaten, maybe? Or longest ever wait for a 242 bus? You can even watch someone attempt the world record for the world's loudest scream at Amy Grimehouse tonight. That's got to be worth seeing – or hearing.

Ever been walking around a department store and had the almost irresistable urge to climb into one of the big beds? Us too, which is why we were ultra excited this week to hear about IKEA's big sleepover.

It's also the time of year when it suddenly gets really, really cold, so we've come up with a list of cosy watering holes to enjoy a winter tipple in. Elsewhere, the comedy team chatted with funny lady Sarah Millican and the clubbing team were impressed by a house legend.

Friday 18th

It's as Christmassy as Home Alone and the Coca Cola adverts and it's back for another year! Yep, Winter Wonderland opens its magical gates this Friday!

For slightly more 'adult' pleasures, the huge Erotica show also kicks off this Friday at Olympia. And for the Twi-hards out there, and there are plenty of you, there's a huge Twilight all-nighter at the BFI IMAX.

Saturday 19th

An exhibition by oddball contemporay artist Jeffrey Valance opens in Hackney this Saturday, which we think is well worth a visit. Also, check out this ultra-swish Love Brunch party - Carrie Bradshaw eat your heart out.

Dance your socks off to some awesome house and techno at Corsica Studios for another Tief party, or get laughing at Tommy Tiernan's new show at The Forum.

Next week

An exhibition featuring the works of 20th Century British painter LS Lowry starts on Wednesday and is a must for art lovers. There's also a brand new art fair taking place on the Southbank, if you're feeling plush.

Fancy yourself as a regular Forrest Gump style ping-pong wizzard? Well test your skills at Pongathon at RichMix onTuesday.

And if you like your music live and loud, New York supergroup The Babies at Madame Jojos on Tuesday and indie newcomers Yuck are the gigs you should be checking out next week.
