Something to Sink Your Teeth Into!

Here we are again! The weekend is so close we can almost reach out and grab it. So other than being ridiculously cold (didn't we all have t-shirts on two weeks ago?) we've been busy hand-picking the very best, coolest, quirkiest events for the weekend ahead. But first, here's what's been going on at Spoonfed Towers this week...

We got very excited when we heard about American Apparel's huge warehouse sale this weekend, and while we were in the shopping mood we compiled a list of London's best vintage fairs. We discussed out-of-body experiences, and the clubbing desk caught up with house heroes Stuart Patterson and Phil Asher. Finally the Spoonfed music desk was rocked with the news of a certain cult band's re-union, yep you've got it in one – Sugababes! Only joking, we mean those lovable Manc scallies The Stone Roses of course....

Friday 21st

Scary, bizarre and terrifyingly fun, Love Me To Death is at The Soho Theatre this weekend.

Two photography exhibitions have caught our eye this Friday. Firstly, Heart of the Great Alone, which displays some powerful images of the Antarctic, and also Carita Laamanen's intriguing depictions of urban living in London.

After dark, Londoners can enjoy a cosy autumnal night under the stars while screaming "Show me the money!!" at a free screening of Jerry Maguire in Trafalgar Square.

Saturday 22nd

Two much loved British retail institutions combine this Saturday, vintage clothing and the pound shop, for Vintage Poundland at The East End Thrift Store.

Sink your teeth into some decadent pop-up dining at The Secret Vampire Club - let's hope there's no 'stake' on the menu. (LOL!)

Mini-festival Oxjam Stokey begins its occupation of Dalston and Stoke Newington, and London super-club Fabric celebrates its 12th birthday with an open-all-hours party finishing some time on Monday morning. Ouch.

Next week

Those heading to Fabric's birthday can pretty much skip this section. But for everyone else....

Lock a group of writers and actors in a hotel with no sleep for 24 hours and what do you get? The 24 Hour Plays, which take place at The Old Vic on Sunday.

Two gigs you should be checking out next week are Real Estate on Tuesday, who take all the best bits of The Beach Boys, Velvet Underground and Television and mix them up into a crazy, friendly beach party, and cosmic rockers White Hills at Corsica Studios on Monday.

Midweek clubbers can get their fill at legendary dubstep night FWD next Thursday, and there's also plenty to tickle your funny bone next week. We recommend the Sketchorcise Halloween special at Ginglik, new video-based comedy show Raybot and funnyman Stuart Silver's first solo show in 10 years at the Soho Theatre.
