On this day way back in 1937, the twentieth century's coolest couple, Wallis Simpson and the Duke of Windsor, married. Aww, bless their exiled socks, and Simpson's striking hats, and Edward's snazzy tailoring. Did you know that Prince of Wales check is named after him? Cool, huh.

Talking of fashionable things, the Old Truman Brewery is currently hosting loads of graduate catwalk shows. And you can go too, if you're quick. Meanwhile Chanel favourite Lily Allen is apparently writing the music for the forthcoming Bridget Jones, The Musical. OMG right.

In other news, a Jonas Brother is making his West End début, we've got a wee guide on how to be a savvy clubber, and also a rather rare interview with Kevin Eldon (that dude from Brass Eye, Alan Partridge, Black Books...). What a funny looking fellow he is.

Hot diggity dog, this looks good! Several of the UK's best stand-ups are taking part in a one-off comedy gig tonight to celebratate ten years of human rights charity Reprieve's vital work on death row and Guantánamo Bay.

Aussie comedy rocker Tim Minchin, first-class stand-up Stewart Lee, Fringe favourite Ed Byrne, Never Mind the Buzzcocks star Phill Jupitus, hilarious actor Kevin Eldon and passionate liberal Robin Ince are just some of the incredible names on this line-up.  Roll up, roll up...
 
Tragedy strikes a remote valley and a memorial is constructed to remember the dead.

The terrific Knock2Bag Comedy Club now has a barnstorming new night in Notting Hill's iconic Tabernacle building. A stunning venue with room for over 300 people seated round tables, this is a guaranteed gig for seeing quality comedy.

Tonight's line-up includes comedy legend Stewart Lee, Perrier winner Will Adamsdale, Edinburgh 'Best Newcomer' 2007 Tom Basden, bonkers roadside caff owner Brian Gittins and Leicester Comedian of the Year 2009 Seann Walsh.
 
Using Insane in the Brain as a soundtrack, Bounce presents a hip hop adaptation of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. The brilliant characters now have a hip hop attitude, and take the form of bungee-jumping b-boys and krumping nurses.

Expect infectious music including Missy Elliot, Dizzee Rascal and Cypress Hill as well as comedy and dance.

Wednesday 9th

As part of the wonderful Multiple Store's six month residency at Westbrook Gallery they're holding three short solo selling exhibitions at the Fitzrovia-based gallery.

There's unique and editioned work by Turner Prize shortlisted artists Cornelia Parker and Langlands & Bell as well as Spitalfields Sculpture Prize winner Kenny Hunter.

Thursday 10th

The Surreal House, a maze of darkly mysterious and intriguing chambers designed by the acclaimed young architects Carmody Groake, opens its doors this June.

What lies inside is an unnerving concotion of the playful, the spooky and the enchanting. Move through haunted rooms, furnished and inspired by a plethora of architects and film makers including the legendary Dali, Duchamp and Giacometti together with more contemporary figures such as Edward Kienholz and Rem Koolhaas.

Friday 11th

Three cheers for Magic and Medicine. Tonight they have British techno genius James Holden at the top of the bill. Head of Border Community, Holden is a much in demand remixer amongst pop stars. But it's his productions and cerebral approach to techno which really single him out.

Magic and Medicine present a one night only showcase of his mind-bending deck selections and skills in celebration of the next installment of their DJ Kicks mix series.

The brilliant Kieran Hebden - aka Four Tet - is also in the house (hopefully the two will offer some back to back business) plus Border Community's acid house obsessive Avus.

Saturday 12th

Based on the true story of a Liverpool FC fanatic who travelled to Turkey to watch a football match and ended up sitting next to the womanising Italian PM.

Berlusconi's sense of humour doesn't last the full 90 minutes, and he starts getting a bit tetchy - though that may be an understatement.
 
Hold onto your hats, and all other superfulous accessories for that matter, this latest mind blowing animatronic/electronic night of art installation and music will knock your socks off.

The creative genuises at The Smirnoff Co. have come up with Kreatures, an electric, unforgettable mix of music and machines, which comes to Corsica Studios for one night only.

The whole place will be decked out by animatronic trio John Nolan, Tristan Schoonraad and Gustav Hoegen who between them have worked on the technology for Star Wars and The Clash of The Titans. Wow. Their animatronic figures will be prompted into action by electronic music from the likes of -Untold and InterKt. Even bigger wow.

Sunday 13th

Scott Joplin's opera set in America's deep south of the early 20th century comes to Greenwich theatre courtesy of Pegasus Opera Company who have previously lit up the stage at Sadler's Wells.

Treemonisha is an educated former slave who tries to free her community from their stifling superstition and ignorance. She is met with the hostility and suspicion that Joplin also faced.
 
Alistair McDowall presents Some Stories with the critically-acclaimed theatre company Cheap Seats.

This collection of four interconnected stories focuses on childhood and its place in our adult lives. Expect some great storytelling and a varied show put together by four young directors.
